I just started an adwords campaign yesterday based on googles £75 voucher, and so far so good; two calls and an email with one booking for next week! What I noticed was the image ads as well, are these any more effective than the text PPC?

I ask because personally I NEVER click on the little text ads, but I do ocassionally click on the animated or static image banners, so I'm wondering if it would pay dividends to go down that route as well.

So image ads any good?

If you are already a well known brand , image ads will work . Also if you want to just spread the name ,image ads will work as you are paying for impressions only .

For PPC , text ads seems to be more good . But if you are so creative and can grab people's attention , try image ads too . As you can see some gaming site ads simle flash game as ad and when people win the game ,their site loads .

Also if you are purchasing text links from sites , you will get traffic and gradually you will get SEO benefit too.

Text links: Good for SEO (if the site is 'do follow').
Banners: Good for building brand awareness, regardless of how well you're known.

Just to clarify, he's talking about PPC advertising, so no SEO benefits either way - but the key is to test any and every method to see which actually works best for bringing in customers.
