Hi,

Does anyone have any ISPs to recommend? I have been using BT and over the last year or so they have been capping me at erratic hours in the evenings and sometimes extending into the morning. I've also been at someone's house who uses another ISP that appears to cap them.

Does anyone know any ISP that don't cap? and also don't throttle your bandwidth down to 1kbps when you are downloanid from RapidShare?

Be

O2
http://broadband.o2.co.uk/ (First 3 months Free)
Don't go with the o2 Access Package as they throttle at peak times

I can only speak for my self and say Virgin Media.

Been online with them since they were Telewest and in the last 9yrs had 3 outages (less than 4 hours each), no caps and fast speeds.

Thanks, I live just down the road from you. When I was working in Bicton Heath we could only have 1Mbit/s to run about 10 webbies on :|

I use o2. Good value for money.

From what I remember "be" is supposed to good at high upload and download speeds, and no limitations. However, verify with them. I used to have a lot of creative media clients who used them. They needed to upload large files. I think they may now be owned by o2.

Yes they are now owned by o2. There seem to be a few people cancelling o2 and signing up with Be as the service seems to be slightly faster. You would think being the same company there wouldn't be a difference :D

Yes, you are right. However, I have had people also moan about "be's" customer service. Some people report good experiences with them whereas others report bad customer service experience.

PlusNet don't cap as far as I know but you're stuffed is there's a problem as their customer service is dire.

we've just signed up with Be

However when I was downloading more heavily I used Aquiss who do a totally unrestricted package with a very generous overnight allowance so as long as you schedule all your big downloading sessions to run over night, you can fill up HD space as fast as you like :D
