Hi,

Does anybody have a positive view on the "automatic energy monitoring meter" that can be fitted onto electricity, water and gas meter. The reading can fed to pc through wired-wireless link automatically.

The benefits are:
1. Accurately monitor how much energy has been used.
2. Help to create awareness on the energy that has been used.
3. The awareness could initiate the action to reduce the energy usage.
4. No more "stupid" estimated reading from the service provider that make the bills sky rocketted!
5. etc...

Does anybody see any benefit for others to have this system at home? Or we already satisfied with our current manual and estimation system?

Advise needed!

Thanks
Raja

I pay the same amount all year round regardless of what I use, I believe this is quite common.

Unless my bills started to rocket then I'm not really fussed. To be honest, living by myself and being out of the house for 8+ hours a day and then asleep for another 8ish means by energy saving potential is limited.

thats true, what about the household that have activities in the house at least 16 hours a day apart from 8 hrs sleeping?

Just try to gather some thought about the usefulness about this.

cheers

I like the idea, the best way to change a thing is to start measuring a thing.

So I think it could be quite useful

It could be really useful if the energy supplier actually use the information to bills u rather than estimation.

It will be a more efficient financial management as well
