I couldn't understand why my old website http://nina.caveweb.co.uk/pets.asp was always on page one of google for 'pet sitters in Hemel Hempstead', and my new one keeps slipping, so I have been tinkering with my meta tags and titles, adding the word Hemel Hempstead.
However, now if you search those terms I only come up on the second page! For years now we have always been prominent for this area and all the areas listed at the bottom of that page, and I do not want to lose our presence.
Any pointers would be gratefully received. My new site is http://www.ninasnanniesforpets.co.uk/petvisiting.html

You are showing as bottom of page 1 when I tried (new site).
Have you set up Google local maps? If not that would be the easiest way to get higher on page 1 for no cost.

Yes, I was appearing on the google maps and suddenly today, thats gone too!

Might be worth employing Ali-v-8's services.
He seems to be the man in the know when it comes to Maps.

if you search on google maps on here, there's been quite a bit of feedback similar to yours over the past few days - Ali is your guy :)

Seen few like this past days, I think google just has blonde moments and forgets things (maybe overworked) then few days later sorts its self out!

On my Google, you're number two for: pet sitting (no quote marks) ... which doesn't help, but I thought I'd mention it :)

It still has not appeared under 'Hemel Hempstead' maps. I just don't understand it.
As I said previously, my other google listings are fine :|
