Ads on Cars
One line on the back of cars with a website www.example.com
1) charge the company an advertising fee depending on mileage and amount of cars that its on
2) Pay the drivers an amount.
Make the difference.
Any faults that you can think of and rate the idea please.

Its an ok idea, lots of people already do this type of thing (did you see Dragons Den?), however, if done correctly then there is no reason why you shouldn't be successful at it.
We do website addresses on Static Cling which is similar to the tax disc holder material in your car, this can be applied and re-positioned again and again, if you do decide to proceed then this is what I would use as it wont make a sticky mess of your clients vehicles.
Take a look at http://www.stationery-direct.co.uk/StickersPortfolio.html for an example.
Good luck!
Kindest regards

Well.....
If I was paying for advertising on the back of a car, I would want to know what type of car it was, the sort of person who would be driving it, where they would be going, etc.
The reason being, I don't want my good company reputation to be ruined by placing an ad on the back of Ford Cortina with bald tyres and no tax.
An extreme example maybe, but you get the point. :)
I would want my ad on the back of a new Merc driving through central London. But no self-respecting Mercedes owner is going to have an advert on the back of his car generating two quid a week.
So you will end up with all sorts of dead-heads quiung up to stick loads of them on the back of their XR3s, which is not going to impress me one bit.
Then there's the issue of policing the drivers. Are you going to demand that they all send you a picture of their car everyday to prove that the advert is still attached?
:)

I think its an idea that can work, but who would want to have an ad on their car unless they were getting paid a decent bit of money for doing so.

I have to say the same as others but you get caught in a catch 22 - you either do a nice static banner which can be (re)moved easily which is great for changing which company they are advertising but bad as you have no way or knowing that they havent taken the sticker off as soon as they have driven away. Alternatively you go for a more perminant solution which will attract less car owners and becomes a problem if Roses by Design (for example) decide to stop subscribing to your service - do you pay for the removal? does the car owner have to (in which case they may not bother and RbD continue to get the advertising for free)....
Certainly think it is a possible business venture but there are a lot of practicalities to work out

About 8 years ago I worked for 6 months on a project to secure advertising on the side of trucks. Big in the states and on the continent but a new idea for the UK and one that has still not taken off big time.
Despite having several thousand clean well maintained vehicles, a great price on full colour graphics and approaches to major prospects with genuine free of charge trials we met hurdles at every turn. Defining the demographic of the audience and getting satisfactory coverage in target areas were difficulties that could not be surmounted.
You may find that by restricting coverage to certain towns/counties you'll have better control over who sees the ads. I would question whether you can get enough people to carry your ads and ask how you intend to monitor whether they are on display or removed after the cheque arrives?

So you are really only interested in advertising on drug dealers cars then

Elite. No faults but how's you budget. The big guys in this bsusinees are giving away FREE cars. The livery costs about £500 quid a time.
You might want to think again.

Interestingly I came across this the other day - site advertising for people. Apparently they fit a tracking device to monitor your movements and pay according to mileage and where you actually drive.

Seems good idea, but you have many cars to do this? They just run around the city do nothing? I saw ads on public bus which was effective.

I think for many businesses the approach is too scatter gun. There is simply no easy way of measuring return on ad spend because you dont know how many enquiries are a direct result of the advertising.
