Anyone know how to get your company on the first page of Search Engines ?
We had a company a while ago who promised they could do this for us but never achieved it ?
Any suggestions ?

Hi,
I don't think anyone can promise this, those that say they can. are fibbing a little.
The SEO's will be here soon, they will be able to tell you :D

Companies will promise you alot, but no one can "guarantee" to get you a certain listing on search engines.
The first thing I'd ask any company is to prove to you that they have got sites to the front page of search engines. And make sure they keywords/phrases are things that people will actually search for. eg. people will search for:
team building oxford
people won't search for:
team building activities and events in the uk
As with anything, word of mouth/personal recommendation is key.

It's such an opened ended question.
You say 'first page' but for what search term or phrase (it's such an important point).
First you have a flash front page with automatic direct to second - it won't help your search engine position.
Secondly you have frames on your index2.html page - it won't help your search engine position.
Thirdly - your navigation panel has been created in Flash - this certainly will not help deep linking or search engine position.
Fourth - you have just one backlink that Google recognises - this will not help your search engine position.
You have an awful lot going against you and you need to chose your keywords carefully. Ideally you need a re-design if you want you main traffic to come from search engines.
If you have other sources of traffic and simply need some further exposure from the search engines you would be best to get someone to analyse the keywords relating to your business and target an achieveable phrase.
Hope this helps,
Dean

Hi elite
I get client sites to page 1 for 'their' chosen keywords and have been doing this successfully for over 6 years. I don't give guarantees at anytime, my approach is that I tell them if I don't get page 1 I don't charge for the work.
I used to post quite a bit on this topic on a forum run by Lloyds TSB which sadly is no longer available and would occasionally offer a free, no strings attached phone chat in which I analyse your site and give you good solid advice on how to improve it towards page 1.
If you'd like a chat just pm me and as long as you're paying the phone bill I'm happy to give you 30 mins free advice, just have a pen & paper handy.
Take no notice of the site in my sig it's brand new and only has page 1's on MSN. Yahoo and Google take a bit longer with new domains.
Cheers
Ray

You have two choices:
1. Re-develop your website based on the advice by c2webdesign, after you have done that you can start to think about keyword optimization
2. If you can't re-develop your site then use Google AdWords.
