Hi Carlos,

I'm not too sure whether a Government grant would be available when you've got nothing to contribute yourself. You're not risking anything.

Is there any way you can produce some leaflets and distribute them in your general business/commerce district. That way, if you get to be able to quote a job you can buy just the essentials for each job until you're fully established. You don't need a van right away; won't your car do?

Start small, grow quick!
Cheers, Nigel

I'd check out the local job centre as I know there used to be a scheme to help small businesses start up. I think they also paid you a certain amount each week while you got going. Sorry, can't remember what it was called but worth a try.

Best of luck

Carlos,
You can do it if you really want!!!

Hold back on the major cleans and equipment and work up to it. Whilst it is good (and practical) to have everything all 'up front' it is not always possible. Many of us have had to start with the bare essentials. After a divorce cleanout I re-started with nothing more than a hammer, handsaw and shovel. Now I have the power diggers, auto nail guns, various power saws etc. We just re-invest as much as we can back to the business.

Even if you dropped 100 leaflets you should get 5 jobs from that if you quote competitively. You can usually rely on a minimum 5% return from a leaflet drop.

One of our member's family runs a carpet cleaning business and has professed great results from leaflet drops. There is no room for negatives in starting a business.

If you want to PM me your services etc. I'll help with a design for you.

Cheers, Nigel
