Hi everyone,

I thought I'd let you know that there is a new painting of the month on my home page.

I've decided to show you all how useless eBay is for selling art nowadays, by putting it up for auction at the ridiculously low cost of only £19.99!

Just to prove a point!!! LOL

With the greatest of respect have you ever thought that maybe no one liked it?

The trouble with art is that its relative one man's master piece is another man's trash. Jsut got to wait for the right person to swing by and buy it.

I understand the way to do it is constantly have 3 or so pieces on ebay and plenty of links to your site so that people drop by and see the whole collection. But then I might be teachign granny to suck eggs.

Did you ever get your template sorted out?

Hi Claire.

Love your painting! Actually, I used to study oceanography and your twin Stingrays are a great representation of the North Pacific family.

Thank goodness we won't have to put up with any more of that horrible 'quilt' joke.

Well done!
Cheers, Nigel

I would buy it if you promised to die in some amazing way in the next 12 months that made your art in demand worldwide (I don't want to wait 400 years)

nah...... I would rather you were to hang around a bit longer........... :D :D

Hi Creo,

I appreciate your comment, however in 2003 I traded on ebay solidly and made quite a tidy profit out of my paintings. In 2004 the world and it's dog decided to dawb paint onto canvas and now the place is swamped with rubbish. All dealers are complaining on other art forums about the fact that they have to treawl through rubbish to get to the decent stuff and have stopped buying via eBay.

Its the same with other things like Murano glass, PC games, DVD's etc. Ebay has just gone crazy!

Nigel....how can you post such a lovely comment in one thread and then lower yourself straight back down again LOL

Rubbish is only rubbish in your opinion though.

Well when the LAC (which you've seen) is up and running the big plan is to sell the concept on so every country or even large city in cases can have their own collective all joined into a world collective.

Shortly after that we will hold the world to ransom for 1 million dollars!!! ha, Ha Ha, HA HA HA!

Anyone interested in starting their own artists collective site with the online software setup etc let me know we can neg £.

How annoying, someones gone and proved me wrong and put a bid in!! LOL

Not bad really with four days still to go, most people sit and wait before getting in at the last minute

Such a simple idea, but really wierd. This is the type of person I was talking about, however good luck to him, if you can be bothered to do the maths he's doing quite well for himself.

Well the POTM sold for a measly £19.99 but hey ho, at least thats another Mackaness original out in the world for all to see.

I've popped a new one up and am also flogging it on eBay. I have a huge amount of old stock, so I've decided to get rid of it at rock bottom prices and start afresh with some new stuff.

Perhaps there is a business opportunity there. Maybe somebody should set up an art auction site?

OMG I just realised, Claire is the one who had the butterfly thing going on all last week. I imagined you being all dressed up in Laura Ashley with long blonde hair an a remote look about yourself. How wrong I was!

Hi Claire,
Price may be depressing, but at least it sold!

I see your new avatar. So you're doing portraits now? Your airbrush technique is magnificent!

Theres loads of them all over the net, but although it's often free to list, it's a waste of time as they are not marketed well enough.
