We are trying to market our conference calling service and having a really hard time at it. We have tried google adwords and yahoo click ads but are not really getting any great results. The funny part is the conference calls are free (for any group of 10 or less) and bigger groups just pay a flat fee and they can talk all day. Its really tough when you are giving away a free service and you still can't get people to use it. There is no signup, registeration or any hoops to pass through. Just an email saying when and how many people. That's it. If anyone can give me some advice, I'll really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi and welcome.

I'm not good with words, but get off the computer and out into the street!

You need to market this to the market which means approaching companies in person and presenting your service. Will be 'hard yakka' but legwork always pays off!
Cheers, Nigel

You've not given us enough information to help you.

You've not explained whether you're getting a lot of visits to your site and no-one's buying or if you're not getting the clicks in the first place.

These are two totally different problems.

Which is it? Also, if people come to your site, what do they do? How long do they stay and what pages do they visit?

Some market information, Skype are providing 4 way conference calling free of charge.

For most users then, you are attempting to sell something that is available for free. This is going to he hard, but maybe not impossible.

Check your business case is still valid, then analyse server logs to answer the questions that Steve posed.

My company offers totally free Call Conferencing - no charges at all - unlimitted time, unlimitted callers - no call charges either. So if call conferencing is all you do, you're going to struggle.

It is probably possible to make a business round it but to do so you'll need a product that has all the bells and whistles that a basic Conferencing lacks. Conference recording? introduction of joiners? hot bacon butties? whatever.

After that in order to make any money at all you're looking at attracting a large number of users which means a LOT of marketing effort and spend.

If you show us your site we may be able to comment further.

If you can create a signature with your URL we can have a look at your site and advise you easier.

Hey syprum

I guess the best target market for you would be consultants. Try to target the Pakistani, Indian and Philippine Call Center Industry, They will be the best buyers for your services as CON Calling is a requirment for them.

Whenever I see the word "free" it makes me sweat. I sometimes do "free" stuff in an attempt to induce sales and these freebies are invariably the worst "sellers" in the range - although I keep trying. It might work better next time...
Anyway. When faced with sellers of free stuff it always leads me to ask "what is your business model"? In other words, "how do you make money/add value and feed business growth?" There's more to this than meets the eye, but if you want any guidance PM me or MSN me and I'll try to give you some pointers which might help.

Find your best Market (Clients) and mailshot them. Make sure your mailling is good or test it and see which is the best. The more you get out the more people who will respond.

i really meet the same situation for our website. We give away many free services for the customers as to attract them althought these freebies don't mean nothing for us and also lots of coustomers will be doubtful about them. so how to get more get interested in or have the desire to know more about our website when they have been into our website for the first time?

Erm welcome to the past, this post was from 3 years ago. I know the power of positive thought can do a lot for some people but when you're necroposting trying to spam your wares you might want to pay more attention to dates. I realise you serached for "confrence calls" or the like and are just posting on every topic that comes up but come on....
