I have had a bit of a recession in my business world.

I ran a ringtone company last year, which I have recently stopped.

As successful business people your selves, what industries do you all recommend or think will be growing in the future.

Or at least is good idea to enter.

Thank You

What did you learn from doing this business? What would you do different next time?

As I understand it ringtone websites are very lucrative and make more money than phone shops!?

The big problem I have with ring tones companies is all I need to do is download a MIDI file and I have it free of charge.

My phone is nothing special either and with more and more phones being able to play different formats the market for ring tones is probably dying.

Companies like Jamster are just fly by night operations.

I would of thought it really depends on your skills and experience :)

Hi Johno,

What may be lucrative for one person may not be lucrative for you. So even if we listed all the most popular markets in the future it all depends on your managerial capacity.

Can i ask Johno - when you sold a ringtone did you have to pay a royalty to the owner, so for example, West Life when you sold one of their songs as a ringtone?

Just curious!

hi there

i used to ahve a ringtones and lgogos site . the trouble, is the market is swamped, and unless you have big bucks, you arent going to egt a fortune back.

as i have other bsuinesses, they took precidence so i ditched it.

i find that one day while having a cup of tea, or a suasage sandwich, i think, oo, thats a good idea, then i just go off on one and reasearhc, and see if it can be done/ is done, what i need to learn, buy books, marketing books, whatever,

just do what you want to man, it will come to you
