I am having problems coming up with the name for my web development business. I have thought of a few suggestions but people have told me they are not very good. All the good names I have thought of are eithe registered as a domain name or with companies house.

Have other people had this problem? I want to avoid giving it a local name as it may make my market too small.

You lucky person :)

I have even tried looking in my dads latin book and have not found anything yet.

My other biggest problem is I want to get into usable multimedia as well, such as DVD authoring so the name has to cover a lot more than web development.

I have another idea am playing with at the moment though.

Its got to the stage where my site is getting close to finishing (just learning the 404 redirect method atm to avoid querystrings) so I need hosting, domain names etc.

I have spent two hours today just looking into phone providers and still not come up with an answer. I enjoy it all though :D

i love this line, and you actually see it quite frequently..

"This means that we are now recognised as a design studio who design with web standards and accessibility in mind"

when i do >text size >larger so i can read your text....
it doesn't work

.

If you PM me what you have in mind I will suggest some....don't post them as someone else will register them
(which is why i cannot post my suggestions here)

Thanks I will do. Its also why I have not said which names I have already thought of it.

PS I was up three hours last night just making sure my site scaled in Firefox to the highest text size. I admit it dosn't quite work but then who is going to read a site in 72 point?

My site works in perfectly in 20-30pt font size which I think is more than good enough.

The other classic is "we always produce our sites to W3C standards" then when you try it on their validator it shows up loads of errors.

i don't worry about validating, i really haven't been sold on the point of it.
But building something that gets up to 72 point...
that's only possible with a blank page :)
