Being in the professional services sector I know little about importing/exporting and wonder if anyone here can advise on the following.
I am currently on long-term residence in the Republic of Georgia. Here in Georgia the cost of raw materials is far cheaper than in the UK. For example, real granite costs $70 sq.m, real oak costs $35 sq.m. In the UK a friend said that he is paying £400/l.sq.m for granite for his kitchen! Most of the raw materials here comes from Turkey, a bordering neighbour of Georgia.
Someone here has approached me about exporting second-hand car parts for BMW and Mercs from the UK because they claim that prices in Germany are increasing and the UK is becoming cheaper.
Whilst I am here I would be happy to set up business relationships with a UK company that would be able to receive the goods and resell in the UK and vice versa
