I stumbled across this site whilst looking for business forums.
It appears that a lot of people have difficulty cold calling, which in most business is a necessary evil especially for a new set up, I am happy to share my experiences and discuss tactics to further my own knowledge and help others.
I set up Kingswood Marketing Group 4 years ago when I was offered the opportunity of taking over several appointment setting campaigns. I have worked at the hard end coalface selling both products and services to a range of market sectors. I have a very good understanding of the challenges facing sales teams and managers and the company was set up to provide a service sitting between the roles of sales and marketing - that of obtaining qualified new clients and business introductions.

Welcome to the forums mark
I use a wide range of prospecting with cold calling on businesses being one. I am in the fortunate position of not selling in a traditional sense because my consultancy is free, and in many cases we are saving the customer money on services they already use. My main obstacle is the lack of customer awareness of the company - though this can be overcome easily.
I dare say we may have many active discussions in the future.
Good luck

Hi Raj
Our experience and highly tuned skill is in getting you in the door, to do this we do not sell products or services over the phone, the selling part is for the face to face sales professionals. We promote the benefits of a company and what a potential client will gain from a meeting.
We have worked within many different markets and in most cases with very little experience of the products or services. You have the experience and knowledge, we have the way through the door.

Great! I think this is what I am looking for at the moment to get into the door of big retailers as Halford (Ripspeed), POTN, Motorworld, etc.
Can you roughly briefly me what step I need to take next? Probably best for you to evaluate whether this is feasible with my products?
Cheers

Hi
Welcome to the forum. Cold calling is a bummer, is it true it's just a numbers game? Or was that made up by some sad loser who just wasn't any good at cold calling?

I learnt very early in sales that it is without doubt a numbers game…
The more people you talk too, the more business you will get.
However, having a few good techniques, closing or otherwise up your sleeve will help tremendously.
