Ignore! Typical - as soon as I send a message the solution becomes obvious!

Next problem - how do I delete message from these threads?!

===========================================

I've just hit a problem in Excel where it appears to be rounding up decimals regardless of their value.

On one PC there's no problem, but on another every decimal is being rounded up. I want decimals ending in less than 5 to round down.

I can probably spend a few hours figuring out what's wrong, but having just joined this forum I thought I'd put it to the test.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Andrew

Not sure if I've understood the question correctly - I may be oversimplifying the issue.

Right-click the affected cell (or group of highlighted cells) and select format.

In the number tab change the category to number or currency and then increase the number of decimal places.

If this isn't what you're after, let me know and I'll have another go - apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs.

Thanks for the help - but I'd already sorted the problem.

It seems that whenever I put in a request for help I then find the answer myself seconds later. I'm trying to work out how to train my brain to skip the 'ask for help' stage.

I always manage the expectation of my girlfriend and surprise her.

Girlfriend: What time will you be back from the pub?
Me: 3, 4 in the morning - not sure yet.
Girlfriend: What?
Me: Don't wait up <as I jump in the car (it's raining so I may as well be dry on the way there - I don't mind getting wet after a few) and scoot off>

When I arrive at 10:30....

Girlfriend: Oh, I wasn't expecting you back so soon. This is a nice surprise.
Me: Well, I didn't want you to feel lonely here on your own, so I hurried back.

Anyone who believes the above should try it and see if the missus:

a) Is still there when you get back
b) Cares
c) Is genuinely appreciative

I'd love to know the outcome of this scientific test.
