Hi there,
I am going after a nationwide restuarant chain and wanted to ask if it would be best to introduce myself as a freelance web design or as a company that specialises in... ?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Introduce yourself as someone who can make their business more successful. Sell the benefits of what you can deliver, not what you deliver - that is merely a means to an end in the eyes of the client.

I agree. Also tailor your presentation specifically to that chain, and show that you've done your research on their competitors. If you can add the kind of value to their business that gives them a competitive edge you are more likely to spark their interest.
Good luck!

I'd be careful saying your a freelancer - if they're after a lot of work they will want a backup in place... if they have a deadline and you are taken very ill or you're on holiday they might be cautious.
If you say you're a company specialising ... etc then that won't raise the same alarm bells, just make sure if you get any large clients that you have a back up in place - either someone inhouse or an associate who you can outsource too under your brand in any case of emergency (or even if you just end up with too much work on)
