sales commission - whats the average?

Hi,
Has anyone any experience of either paying or charging a consultancy/ commission fee? I am working on between 5% - 10% - dependant upon order value (capital equipment) I generally deal with a handful of regular suppliers but not paid any retainer. Can anyone advise?

Your OTE should be 1 fith of GM so if you make the company only 100K GM you should be paid 20K

GM= difference between buy and sell price.

Most companies can work out consultancy buy prices by

Salary x 1.5/ 220 +40% and rounded up based on 60% unitisation rates.

This empowers sales people to sell as high as possible.
