I would like to suggest bringing back the post count that used to be visable in under the username.
I find that I (rightly or wrongly) am checking out peoples post count in their profile to see how many they have as a sign of their credibility in the forums. (this especially applies to the advertising forums) It would be alot easier to see the post count under their username.

I was also thinking about that myself for the same reason - unless there is any objections I'll bring them back.

You'll need a five-digit field to cope with the number of posts from Jayne.

I don't look at numbers of posts as this has absolutely NO relevance to their ability to say anything interesting.
I just check when they joined as this shows whether they have just joined to announce their deal or are actually a long term member with commitment to the forum.
However it is interesting to hear how many people are checking the numbers of posts because it never even entered my head to do this. Everyone surfs differently don't they?
PS I'm not going to start do it either.

sure, but I find it makes advertising posts more credible and I am more likely to use the services of someone that has been an active member here than someone who has hardly posted and just pops in to advertise every now and then.

What is even more amazing when comparing Jayne's and my post count is that Jayne joined in August 2005 and I joined in March 2003 :)
When moderating the forums I look at the joined dates also, as I tend to be more lenient to long time members over their posts then to newbies. I dont pay that much attention to post counts.

Ozzy,
Maybe you should have a word count. I only do little posts (little and often), others write their life history. Therefore i'd be much lower down then

Then I'd be in trouble.
When we were doing our MBA, my business partner always referred to me as Shakespeare. In her words, "Steve can never write anything in less than three acts."
