Hello everyone - i hope someone can help.

I am looking to get advice from people who have ventured into similar areas as me. I am looking to open up a showroom however the best property i have found has only a B8 (warehouse/tradecounter) classification.

But because no one is actually buying something and taking it away from my showroom i believe it is not "Retail". I know lots of businesses do this but how strong a case would I have if the council interveaned. Ideally i would trade from an A1 Retail classification property but they are all not ideal for me.

Has anyone had experience with the council closing them down in similar circumstances?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

I'd ring the council planning section and ask, they are usually very helpful. You can always register for change of use, they will be able to tell you :D

I'd second Jayne's idea of phoning the council. Ours were really helpful with a similar question.

Could prove very expensive not to get the right advice up front! :(
