Just had a thought and then thought I would share it with you.
With the amount of people on here all doing our different thing is'nt there a good reason to promote eachother away from the UKBF and for any referal from a member of UKBF there is an agreed finders fee sum. for example if an order is worth

£500 - £50 comm
£1k - £100 comm
£2k - £200 comm

And so on. Just a thought. Maybe someone could arrange such a thing.

Sounds like a good idea, but how do we know if everyone's services are something which we would feel happy about promoting - BNI do something similar except you don't pay each other for referrals, just keep eyes and ears open for opportunities for each other, and I think most of us do that already? One to think about though... I'd be happy to pay someone for serious referrals, so long as they're happy to refer me.

I would do it for nicks, in the interest of camerarderie with my fellow members. It's just an extension of networking, and I, for one, would not wish to directly profit from its dealings.

Perhaps that's legacy of being from 'the old school.'

Cheers, Nigel

It does sound like a good idea, but what happens when there are more than 1 member per business sector? There are multiple designers / printers, web designers and web hosts all active members on these forums - so which one of each sector would you recommend???
I would hate to see it turned into a "highest bidder" situation, I don't think that is what this forum is all about... :(

I am totally FOR the idea in general, it may prove a bit complicated to setup though.

I already pass out forum members details to anyone I know whose looking for a similar service.

I would always be happy to host any referrals and find a way of saying thanks :)

This is a good idea, I do pass on leads I see on my photography forums.

That's like the BNI - they only allow one company from each sector into each group. Things can get a bit funny as they see it as "locking out the competition" Competition is healthy for business. I think most people are happy to refer people they know and trust without any added incentive.

I always try to think of the others on this site and wouldn't really expect to get any commission for it.

As a suggestion though, we all hop onto different forums etc to get work, so why not start a thread similar to the tenders one called leads.

If you stumble accross a good lead somewhere then just paste a link in. That would be good.

Well I think its a great idea.

I have passed on some business to some members here.

Also I would not mind some word of mouth and affiliate members from here for RosesbyDesign.com

Our now UKBF forum famous personalised roses. (you will know what I mean next MONDAY!)

We already offer 10% commission!

I think most get the idea, and i do understand peoples worriea bout there being more than one company in each sector.
I think forthe Hardcore UKBF members they know who the good people are and those they know will be good enough to return the favour if such a thing was to happen.
I think many here trust other members and I think it is a good incentive. I also understand that people refer people already as I do, but its an added incentive, where before if someone said I am looking for a photograghy you may say i know someone from the UKBF perfect for this job. What may happen now, is you even lead with the suggestion that Photograghy is needed and you know someone.
