I've never had or heard of anything like this - however I reckon it probably was an attempt to get you to drop your claim.
If the police visit you again or are still looking into the matter, it might be worth responding saying that they have "stolen" your money (I assume the dispute will be along those lines) - however you're happy to deal with it as a civil matter if Barclays will do the same as you think it would be a waste of the police's time if they were involved.

i cannto believe the police are wasting resources on this
the complaint is because they have no proper complaints procedure for certain sized companies yet advertise that they are fully regulated by the fsa ,,i emailed them three times to explain their complaints procedure and they wouldnt next i know they closed my account and then sent the police
i think the officers were dismayed too

What evidence could they have that you had commited an offence that required them to call.?

Barclays are the worst bank I have ever had the displeasure to bank with. Close the account and move to a better bank. Happy to suggest excellent alternatives.

hi
you all know my problem i have posted it a few times
the officers have just told me a claim has been made but i havent been charged /warned etc
however i cannot understand going to such extremes ive sent them three emails which have clearly only asked (if a bit angrily written)what the complaint procedure is and why they were not adhering to it
the complaint was made on the 7th october and i havent had contact with them since 1st of september..on the 5th october they closed my account with my complaint still not answered in any way.

cannot understand why the harrasemtn claim was made a month after last contact and why a claim of harrasement was made.
i was ready to move on ,i think now they have somethign to hide that i may have been a bit close to

Once you complain against BB they want you out...that is their MO, I would not go near them with a flamethrower. I complained about one of their ****ty managers years ago and as soon as the fuss died down he did his utmost to put me out of business.
Leave before they force you out, under their terms not yours!
