They've been cold calling us since 2002 and we've not taken the plunge with them yet. We're heard some mixed comments about them, the main one being very little return for the money.
Still, it might work for a different type of business :|

I've never heard of them. But I just went to their web site and it seems as though they have a lot of different types of services/ products available for customers. But personally, it seems like they are thrown together. It does not appear that they focus on any one field or industry that would exhibit them as a reputable company from the customer's end.
Have you begun working with them?

Hi,
We have worked with Crewise and it was a bitter disappointment. In the end, we had to go to court twice and won twice to get our money back.
The director admitted in court that she discovered this thread. She is very annoyed with this thread as potential customers search on the internet for Crewise and come upon ukbusinessforums. I don't understand why they won't review their sales practices and behave in a more ethical manner.
It is a shame that some companies don't simply learn from customer's complaints and resolve problems surely in the long-term happy customers refer more business, happy customers are also far more likely to renew their advertising with a company. It really boggles me.
I have learnt to never, ever advertise with companies that have to resort to cold-calling for business.

What a shame?!
Has anyone done business with a company named Janeo? They are a jewelry company selling to men and women. I'd like to get some feedback if anyone has heard of them or bought anything from them. Thanks.

I have been contacted twice now as I rent a villa in Cyprus. They said they were linked to crew members from British Airways who don't have time to search the Web for accomodation !!!! Now I'm wondering who the hell they really are.

Hello,
Crewise also sell Crewise membership to airlines as an employee perk offering discounts to its staff.
As far as airline staff not having time to browse the internet for accommodation, just look at the Crewise website. It is badly laid out with horrific graphics, usability is a real issue (far too many steps to get to relevant pages) and Alexa ranking is very low. If time is an issue, surely one would not visit a very time-consuming, horrific-looking website such as Crewise, there are thousands of other travel and accommodation sites that are far more user-friendly. For example compare the holiday accommodation site http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/ with www.crewise.com (http://www.crewise.com) and you will see what I mean.
I think you would be much better off spending the money on SEO for your own website (if you have your own website or invest in a website) or advertise with a business such as Owners Direct.
Holiday Home Letting Forum laymyhat has a few entries on Crewise as well see here (opinions on Crewise are quite negative there too)

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear that Crewise is not working for your as they should and that they mis-presented themselves. Can you please tell me the name of the person who sold it to you, I maybe able to help or offer advice.

First step to take is to write an email or letter to the director Sheila Hunter (sheila @ crewise. com) and express your concern at the mis representation.
Let us know how it goes.

I would recommend holidaylettings - a very professional website that generates fantastic results. I know a number of holiday rental properties that have switched to holidaylettings and have been really pleased with results

Hi Kate
How can I get in touch with you? I am unsure about them at the moment. I spoke to 10 people so far and most of them have recommended their service. However, I have searched google and saw this post and I am trying to find out more about other's experiences.
I do realise that accessing their membership does not guarantee sales. So, I am trying to find out what kind of businesses were successful in generating sales through this company. Based on this, I can make a decision if I should sign up with them or not.

Michael

i feel that i was miss sold this 12 month deal by crewise and when i put my concrens to her i get ignored and then a week and several emails later i get a mail from Sheila Hunter saying "give it a few more weeks you are defintitly suited to our site" etc. i have spoken to consumer direct about it (who are already aware of Crewise) then i get told several emails later she finaly understands that i want a refund and she wants to deduct £100 plus some other silly amount for banner design (they used the one off our website!!) and publishing fee's (cut and paste also from our site).
the funiest thing is she was trying to rush me today to take the goodwill geusture and take the offer she will refund me less the £100 and site usage and all the other stuff!! the more you google the worse it gets.
please anyone leave feed baack and updates on how you are all doing!!
sorry it's long but people need to be aware of crewise

12th November 2008, 14:06
I would suggest to ask Sheila Hunter in an email to justify the cost for the 'design' and 'publishing fee', it must have taken 5 mins at the very most to put this on the Crewise website as it was a Copy and Paste job. Maybe kindly remind her she lost two court cases against Dutch by Design
She had a severe telling off from the magistrate in court.
Did you receive any paper work before making payment?

Hi Dutch By Design!!!
i have spoken to Jenny this AM and she said that Sheila is out the Country
as soon as i mentioned this forum to Jenny the panic set in she started to stutter and got a bit upset that i was listening to this forum.
but once i sated that i want this resolved within 24hrs of the call which was recorded (as i clearly stated to her), i shall start legal proceedings.
As of yet it appears that the only person who is able to deal with my refund is Sheila.
anyway sorry still got my goat up about this!!!
the answer to your question is i received nothing prior to signing up and only got a agreement when i kicked up a stink about being removed and wanting the refund.

Hi all
I have recently been contacted by this company -unfortunately for them I work for BA! I have sent all of their correspondence to British Airways Asset Protection department as they were quite clearly inferring that they were a part of BA Personnel and tried to get me to sign up to their property listing service for their "cabin crew, pilots and ground staff" -
I called the sales girl a "mug" and told her that I had contacted BA - I then fired off an email to Sheila Hunter who called me back within 10 minutes.
She was full of hot air and was clearly in a flap and tried to blame the sales girl for saying the wrong thing - absolute joke of a company

I just want to say, I have been approached by Crewise several years ago, after some thought I decided give them a chance to work with Crewise and must say I manage 7 hotels and have two beauty salons my own and I made the right choice. I would highly recommend the website to people who has quality products to offer, and in my view it’s a very professional and caring company with a brilliant customer service. I don’t normally have time to attend to forums like this but when someone mention to me about the comments made about Crewise on this forum thought that should give some of my opinion as well, and it’s a real shame an unfair some of the petty comments been made here.

Hello everyone!
I've been reading all the comments about this company crewise.com. I was approached by them yesterday as I have a company of holiday rentals and management in portugal. They also told me they had a connection with BA, which would be brilliant for the bussiness...!! I was just about to send them an e-mail to confirm we would like to work with them...
I'll wait for the moment, till I hear more news from here...
Thanks to all

I also have started advertising with Crewise with a property in Menorca. The agreed two years for the price of one, and Kelly had a good manner about her. Yes, she definitely inferred that Crewise was used by BA Airline staff so I'm very happy to get my money back if this is not correct.

Hi Joanna
They are most definitely not in any way associated with British Airways (except one of the directors is cabin crew) If they inferred this then you have been mislead. Please contact me via private message for more information

Hi There,
We have been approached by Lynette from Crewise for the last three weeks (i'm fed up to be honest!!). I don't like being cold called by companies so am always dubious of them. We, like many of the people on this forum were also told about the BA connection. I didn't go with their offer as I thought it was a lot of money for what I felt was a gamble as I had never heard of them.
They put all the details in an email for me and again in their marketing email they state their conection to BA...
"Crewise was formed in 1999 by British Airways Personnel, and the
Crewise website, www.crewise.com, was launched to provide Travel
Industry Personnel, Frequent Travellers and Business Travellers with
information and recommended products and services to enable them to
have access to anything they might need right across the globe.
Membership grew rapidly, and continues to grow, so that today we have
over 350,000 members and including businesses and members of the
public we have just over 750,000 within our database".
I can't really say anything bad about them other than they are perhaps missleading people and too pushy, but this forum has certainly put the lid on it for me, I shant be going anywhere near them now.

I placed an advert for 2 properties several years ago. I too was told (lead to believe) it was a BA company. I have not had a single enquiry, despite our property in Croatia being very well booked out (through holiday lettings). I contacted them to ask for my money back, but was told that was not possible, but that I would not have to renew the subscription before getting a booking. I have just realised my ad. is no longer on their site. If anyone has any ideas how to go about getting a refund I would be very grateful.

Hi,
I actually called one of the properties advertised on the Crewise site and the owner of the property told me they never heard of Crewise nor did they ever pay for a listing.
I think Crewise pick info from other holiday accommodation sites to fill their listings.
I can highly recommend www.vrbo.com (http://www.vrbo.com) I booked our Florida holiday home via this site and the landlady tells me she gets lots of business from it.

Hi, I was telephoned also by Crewise.com a few days ago stating that I had been recommended to them, and they asked me to advertise with them for a year at the cost of £400 for an advert and banner as they put it. The lady was very convincing and said I would receive a membership card and I could get discounts on flights with BA and hotels. I was tempted to advertise, but like a lot of people had never heard of them, so I thought Iwould check them out before parting with my money. This forum has been most helpful in making my decision. I also was not sure on how much business I would receive for my money. They must be desperate for customers that they have to resort to touting for business in this way!:(

I was telephoned by a very plausible young woman last September who persuaded me advertise my apartment in the Alps at a cost of £100. I was also offered the same benefits as I was told that crew members received as to discounted goods etc. I have not received one enquiry. Looking for their website I came across this forum and now think that this has been a scam, especially since no one has approached me to renew. I shall be very pleased to join in submissions to BA.

I don't remember whether I was approached to renew or, more likely, I telephoned to ask why I had not received one enquiry in the year. I asked for a renewal at nil cost which was agreed. However, on looking at their website I see that they did not keep their side of the bargain and so I am not listed. Very charming but totally useless, or worse.

Thanks to all of you who wrote about them. I've recently had an e-mail from them, inviting my business to advertise with them. I didn't know them, but didn't find the email very unprofessional; their greeting and spelling of their company name as "crewsise" didn't give me much confidence in them. Fruthermore, I've asked colleagues and agencies at the Airport; nobody knew them. Checked their website; looked very home-made. Reading through your comments, I've wasted my time!
Once again, thank you for saving me time and money.

Hi guys. Just an update really. We did get a full refund in the end :) It did take a while and a few phone calls and letters to Willy Walsh CEO at British Airways who confirmed that BA and Crewise are nothing to do with each other. The only "link" as such is Sheila Hunter worked as cabin crew at the time. I know this is going to be painful for the people who have given money over to them but stick with it and push for your money back!!! NONE of the big companies they advertise as being "associated" with knew of them.At the end of the day I still feel very foolish for even dealing with them and weather they like it or not crewise obtained money by deception and that is criminal. Good luck to everyone with a pending claim

Just a quick update on the situation here. I am still receiving emails from businesses that have paid for Crewise 'advertising'. Crewise has been taken to court by other companies although monies have not been forthcoming.
Crewise has ceased trading (although the Inland Revenue is contesting this as monies are owed) and the Crewise website has conveniently been sold to the Crewise MD David Brockway.
Exactly the same set up with same staff, address and identical website is now trading as World Privilege http://www.worldprivilege.com (http://www.worldprivilege.com/)
I hope this update prevents more companies being duped by the very same people. It is truly heart breaking to hear from entrepreneurs who have been taken for quite big sums of money.
