I recommend the Gold Center courses to everyone who is in business and wants to communicate effectively.

I was invited to take part in the Elements of Online Training course, which teaches class members about different means of online communication, including instant messaging and online telephone calls using Skype. The class lasts approximately four weeks and each week has a different set of assignments to be completed individually and as a team. This class forms an important introduction to subsequent classes, as it builds relationships with people from all over the world that are used in other courses to work together on team assignments.

I then took part in the Good Writing course very challenging and interesting but had to withdraw for personal reasons . I thought that my knowledge of English grammar was excellent, but I discovered that I had forgotten a lot more than I had thought. One of the challenges I experienced was the difference between American and UK English. The individual assignments for the first two weeks were assessed in the form of a multiple choice quiz.

I experienced a lot of software-related problems with the quizzes but Steve was always willing to help to resolve them.

One of the most important points made at the beginning of the first course is that the Gold Center is an “ego-less” learning environment. This is very important as there is no competition between class members. On completion of the first course, there was no discussion among my classmates about the grades we had achieved and this is the first “school” I have been in where this has happened. The courses were flexible and deadlines were extended to allow for changes in personal circumstances and natural disasters that affected some class members. Steve was a superb tutor and he had Internet Messenger conversations with me regularly. He also responded to posts made on the Q&A forums promptly.

The Gold Center courses are invaluable to business people who want to make an excellent impression on clients. After completing these courses communication will be clearer and therefore more effective. I find myself correcting my writing far more than I used to and I think more about what I am writing.

Please contact me if you would like more information about my experience.

If you would like more information about the courses, Steve is a member on these forums under username goldctrsteve and the Gold Center website is at http://www.goldctr.com. I noticed Steve has posted a message about the next course http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=37991&highlight=#37991.

Lynn,

It's very kind of you to post a message about your experience. You were such a great contributor to the classes, and I've received several messages from your teammates saying how sorry they are that you can't continue. Personally, I learned a lot from your participation.

The social aspect of our program is important, and you'll always be a part of the GOLD Center family!
