I'm assuming you are talking about Internet Explorer 8?

If so, then yeah go ahead and download it, its quite decent (compared to some of the earlier versions), though I'm still a Firefox user myself.

There may be a 'compatibility' issue with some sites, but if you go into 'tools' on the main menu, you have some settings you can change for this (or use the little compatibility button at the top address bar).

Try firefox instead its faster and more intuitive than IE.

Caused me loads of grief sadly.

I liked IE and it tied in with some other programs I run.

I have largely given up with it now because it kept on crashing and I could not be bothered with the hassle of down grading thinking they will fix it soon - they aint.

Now a google chrome fan but you need IE in some format to access some sites.

And it IS fast. FF is just as slow as IE to boot up but maybe i have to many add ons.

why not just get the mix on your machine and swap between them according to mood.

While you are comparing browsers, worth noting that Opera 10 now has a function to speed up website page downloads. Could be useful for mobile broadband users, those far from the exchange, and of course those in far flung parts.

I remember some one advertising something similar for dial up users just a few years ago, based on NASA technology I think.
