I was just getting ready to lunch our new remote support packages for our home and business users and wondered what everyone thought of our pricing.

Our pricing is for a 1 year and can easily add additional hours to their packages.

Business Users
5 Hours - £55
10 Hours - £96
15 Hours - £145
20 Hours - £180

For our home users the packages we are just offering 5 and 10 hour blocks and these cost

5 Hours - £48
10 Hours - £90

I look forward to your replys

Daniel

I think your pricing for businesses is a bit on the low side, I charge £55 and hour for remote support to businesses, Most fixes on Computers or servers can be done within an hour.

So your saying in reality that you are only worth £10 an hour, I would just set an hourly rate for businesses as this would be a better way to go rather than trying to sell them 5 hours at £55.

A suggestion might be to sell credits.

I might look at £55 for 5 hours (which is very cheap btw) and think "but I only want to use a single hour and see the other 4 as a waste. But if I'm offered credits at £11 a pop I instantly feel the service is only £11 per hour even if I have to buy a minimum of 5.

Istock.com do this wonderfully

Are you only looking at the PC market?

If your going for business clients and looking at standard apps and technologies, isn't it worth considering servers and applications like exchange, SQL etc. Otherwise your missing out on a big piece of the market.

Curious, looking at your sig, has the MCSE been dumped now? Never heard of a certified desktop engineer! Used to be just a client O/S exam for your MCP.

must be getting old... formerly NT4 & 2003 MCSE :)

Not as i know of the MCSE is still active, i got mine last year and our server remote support are charged on a different requirements from the customer but for standard applications thats what the pricing was for.

For example with our exchange remote work pricing starts at £75 an hour but as we dont have many we are just working with small/medium sized busisses and home users.

fair enough, sounds like youve got it covered. Your exchange pricing sounds about right.
