ok folks - time to ante up!

please PM me (if you don't want personal info in open forum!), but let's sort this one way or the other (before diaries fill up up with other stuff!)

let's talk dates and locations - I want to know who is where, and what dates you have free for an Xmas meet...

can we network/do business/have fun?

ps - deadline on this -I'm giving it one week - SEVEN DAYS - and if we don't have a group of at least five committed people, then we scrap the idea, and let the whole thing go...

(if that happens - please don't tell anyone we don't REALLY mean business!!!)

Check the dates Mrs! nothing arranged as we didn't get the quorum...

So unless someone persuades me otherwise, we'll all be giving a remote toast...

ps - I will put money on me being able to bore you, before you bore me!:D;)

I like a bit of truffle snuffling myself :D

Geoff T
14th October 2009, 18:13
All, just to clear this up - partners (whatever) are all welcome! (Personal proviso here that anyone coming should be legally able to buy a round!)

Whether you come with, or without, is entirely up to you on an individual basis.

I ESPECIALLY don't want lady UKBF members feeling uncomfortable, so bring the local trusted rugbi team if it makes you feel safer (just make sure they've got cash in their pockets before they board the bus!!;))

I'm bringing my better half along so MrsP can meet her translator, chat about Welsh language and baby stuff... 'n' that!

The more the merrier folks - but if you're happier coming on your jack, that's fine too.

ps - thought occured - do we want to think about name badges? so we know who we are on here and what our real names are?

pps - do we want to think about a kitty? depending on where we go, there might be a booking fee...

ppps - we need to sort venue if all are ok with the Friday!

time to sign on dotted line peeps!;)

MrsPWN
14th October 2009, 18:18
All sounds good to me, would deff like food.... a good Indian gets my vote!

Maybe we can find a good buffet, or what we used to do is give the restaurant a final number and a monetary amount (say £15 ea) and they would come up with a spread, works out a better choice that way :D:p;) only really works with "ethnic" tho I supose.

So, I am good for the Friday, will be 2/3 and will have a red rose in my cleavage

Looking forward to meeting Mrs Geoff :D

Having thought about it for another 3 seconds, when I have been involved with similar things there is a tendency for people not to show up. How about setting up a paypal jobby and people put £10 in as a kind of promise then if they don't turn up we can just drink their moneys worth :D

Geoff T

price range to include(list is not exhaustive!):

1. Embarrassment value = +10% per member
2. Geoff T inclusion = -30% per piccie (due to inherent damage to photography equipment!)
3. good Mrs Geoff T piccie having fun = freebie drink from Mr Geoff T!!!
4. Missing drink = +1 drink forfeit per member/guest
5. 'Over fun' mix = -10% off bill bonus per member/guest per piccie

Hi all,

Just had a reply from TedHS, the venue in Deeside we were thinking of is a no-go.

If Deeside still works for everyone, we'll need to find another venue - anyone know of anywhere decent?

bridges
19th October 2009, 19:47
Hi

I just asked my boyfriend, as he knows the area better, he doesn't really know of anywhere in Deeside, but close to it is the Coach and Horses off the a55 (Flint Mountain) but that is on it's own really, we have the Glas Fryn, near Mold (by the theatre clwyd), bit pricey, but very nice, again on its own. Or somewhere like Mold, good selection of pubs (including a spoons).

I really don't mind where, just suggesting places near Deeside that I know are good!

Hi all,

Ok - to get the party booked (before we talk our way past the time!) how about this:

Lady T has decreed she'll be wearing a smart/cas dress so smart/casual works (me sequined number goes away for another year!:() you couldn't force me into anything but jeans out of work anyhow!!;)

We're going to be stopping at a local Travelodge thing too (BEER:D), so how about checking yellow pages for an Indian reasonably close to the "crash point" (with a good pub also close to save on silly restaurant prices?)

That should get us to a couple of options, and move to getting the party started!

Also - I suggested before about getting name badges - what do y'all think? (you won't be getting a piccie of me on a public forum - cos I'm SOOOO much uglier than the lot of you!:p)

MrsPWN
21st October 2009, 18:07

Don't you live in Wrexham anyway Geoff? or am I getting confused?

I'm still confused about the Travelodge, they said they've got sale rooms from £9, now it's £10!?! And the only one I can find for that price is in South Wales! However they are £22 in Bangor. Failing that I've seen £19 in Porthmadog, we could all have drinks then go for an ice-cream on the front! Haha :D

I think we need to think of where is going to be a good night out and where is best for everyone.

Geoff - Did you manage to get names/locations off everyone? If everyone is happy with Deeside I can have a look around? Or let me know if anywhere else takes peoples fancy!

Have you booked a table space for the 3 jockeys? ;)

What about their horses?

Poppy

Only need the 3 seats Poppy - would however advise attendees not to look at the ingredients for the menu too closely!;)

"Dobbin Jalfrezi" doesn't sound as nice as it really is...

Calm down lads - that was me, not Vicky (upstanding nice ladies like those who attended on Friday wouldn't do such a thing);)

As for me - I'm not signing ANYTHING!!!!:p

Seriously though - thanks to all for coming along, it WAS a good night for all (according to the previous posts), and Mrs T and I certainly enjoyed it!

I - vaguely:redface: - remember some discussion about moving the event around so maybe we could do the thing nearer Mrs P next year...

Not only would this mean other members from that way would find it easier to come, but also that I can leave the organising to someone else!!

Thanks again everyone - I'm now off to hide somewhere safe for when Mrs P gets those piccies up...I hear Peru is nice this time of year!

Hehee, they were embarassing but they made up the numbers :D

the person through the screen wanted to be part of our gang, but we is fussy!

I would just like to point out in Geoff's defence that unlimited beer was included in the price of the buffet, which was very good indeed.
