Choose Which Domain name I should Use

Me and My hubby now have quite a large selection of domain names (related to Lottery syndicate players/affiliate.)

I was planning to give them to new affiliate members who also wanted to promote it.

My question is can you give me your favourite domain name. One from each list.

I am about to buy some stampers to print the domain names onto stationary (beer mats, leaflets) and just want to use one or two domain names which link directly to the e-lottery site.

From a search engine point of view this number of domain names pointing to the same content is going to kill your rankings.

Most of the search engines would class it as spamming and would reduce your sites ranking every time it found a duplicate.

If you had different content on each one there would be no problem and would probably increase the chances of your site being found by a visitor.

not if they are set up with 301 redirects.

which would be a waste of a good domain name of course, best to use each one and put up a small 4 page website.

Always use 301 redirects - we used 302's at first which caused a lot of problems.

We have a new project starting in the next few weeks for which we've purchased a number of domains all pointing to our core site, again using a 301.

I've changed the name server to point to my website which is hosted by another provider.

Chosing a Domain name is important and i would go with www.joinalotterysyndicate.com as it tells you exactly what you are going to get. Also, you need to think about your phone number. Look at the National Lottery 0845 9 100000 (Great Number!). It makes you look more professional if you have a memorable number. Take a look at http://www.telecomit.co.uk and look in the 0845 or 0870 gold number sections. I think that if you get the domain name correct and get a good phone number you will be onto a winner!
