Freelance report writer for a market research agency: recommendation needed

Hi,

I would need help in finding UK/USA market research agencies which need freelance report writers.

I am a market researcher with a 5 year experience in market research, mostly in FMCG field, both on a client and agency side. One of my previous employers was one of leading FMCG companies (Fortune 100 company) and in this company's HQ in Switzerland I had a half a year long on-the-job training with their leading researchers.

At this moment I would like to work from home on a part-time, freelance basis and therefore I would like to find several potential employers. These would be market research agencies in UK or USA which need freelance report writers.

So far I found one – Visiongain (based in London), but I would also appreciate an additional recommendation from someone experienced in market research job market in UK/USA.

As a professional market researcher, I presume you have already carrried out research through the obvious mechanisms like contacting the UK Market Research Society, carrying out internet searches to identify suitable market research companies that you can approach (suprised that companies like IPSOS MORI, NOP etc didn't come up in the UK when you did your search) and reading sector magazines for the market research industry.

In terms of the UK, might also be worth seeing if there are any employment agencies that specialise in recruiting market research freelances and also registering on websites that put organisations looking for services with freelancers wanting work for international work.

Thank you for your fast and kind response! I intend to do almost everything you suggested, beginning with contacting your Market Research Society. I did not know you have one – thanks for that information!

I am a market researcher who lives in Croatia and today was the first time I tried to google something like „market research UK“.

I got numerous hits (which is of course great), but at a first glance it was a bit hard to identify those agencies which a) do market research and not actually something else related to it and b) have a freelance vacancies option. So I thought a bit of insiders' insight might be a helpful shortcut and posted a thread on this forum!

I also looked at your company's web site and I really like what you do! So far I did not have an opportunity to do market research for non-profit sector and would be happy to get one. Just in case you might need some freelance market research services - I'll send my CV to your company's e-mail!
