Does anyone use Yahoo's PPC services? A while back we tried it,we were offered help from Yahoo who set it up for us but the return was dismal. Has anyone had success? Most customers, I would say 95% say they found us through Google.

I tried Yahoo last month and I got zero click throughs using keywords and adverts that work perfectly well for me in Google.

In fact I still have the full balance I deposited there as my adverts are not getting any clicks.

Total waste of money for me

Does anyone use Yahoo's PPC services?

I've got a few clients who use Yahoo PPC. (which I manage)

Traffic is far lower than Google, but the ctr is higher and cost per conversion usually lower.

So, if you're profitable with Adwords and have a decent amount of traffic from it, it's worth considering using Yahoo.

A while back we tried it,we were offered help from Yahoo who set it up for us but the return was dismal.

They might have done a poor job of setting it up. If you've got an Adwords campaign running, try copying what's working with Adwords and set up your own Yahoo campaigns.

I agree with steve, My clients get better conversions on consumer goods.
traffic volumes aint that good but is it not the conversion that makes the money.

I'm still trying to learn everything I can about Google's Adwords program before finally taking the plune. I know some people put money into it and don't make back a profit but then some people research it first before they do and it really works for them. I guess it depends on how much your competitors are paying per click. Thanks for the headsup though I was considering Yahoo's PPC. Guess I'll stick to learning G's one.

Yahoo can be excellent but is not as big as Google, worth a punt if you find that Google works for you.

Man I really want to get involved with Googles PPC.
It brings real targeted traffic right?
What sort of budget should I start with?
Got any pointers or anything you think I should read first?

We budget 10% of sales in the Uk and in the USA this year that is nearly 15% of sales as we just cant get into the organic listings on some search terms.

We have been working alot just lately on PPC and we have managed to double the CTR but not the sales, they are up about 20%

We use Yahoo PPC in the UK and USA, the USA has better results for us than the UK.

We also use MSN PPC which again gets us more clicks in USA and better converison rates than Google.

We have just started Using Shopping Channels but that havent done anything at all for us in 1 month we have spent 45p on shopping channels and both where a nightmare to setup.

Hmmm PPM for MSN. The ads that come up on the bottom of MSN window I take it you mean? I'm reading as much as I can about it but I think it's going to take a few weeks still before I feel equipped enough to finally launch into it.

I probably need to set up a landing page first anyway.

Yahoo PPC is quite good but you have to be careful with your keyword matching.

I have used both google and yahoo PPC for years and conversions from google beat yahoo anyday. In fact, I found a lot of fraudulent clicks from yahoo PPC.
