Bad IM's

Hi,

I keep getting IM's from the person above, one of the asking if I wanted sex or dating. They are really getting on my nerves now. How do I find out who it is. It doesn't look like a proper email address and it doesn't work either.

All I can say, it's crap advertising, if that's what it is, if you cannot find there site. All it these messages do are anoy people.

I got a phone call at 4.30 the other morning on my mobile from someone in India! Not offering sex though.

Hi Jayne,

I suspect that it'll be a bot rather than a human on the other end - IM spam is not uncommon. It's the same sort of thing as SPAM email - the sort you get offering Vallium / Viagra / whatever.

If they send out a million emails or IM's and one percent of people reply, thats 10,000 email addresses of IM id's that they have then verified, which can then be sold on to other spammers.

As Duane said - don't waste your time on them!
