Is anyone else having problems with login to this site?
Twice over the last 2 days, I have been logged out half way through a session and when I try to login with my username / password it is not being recognised??
I have to reset the password to get back in!!
Is it only happening to me?

Hi Mark
happened to me on Saturday approx 2 or 3 pm and also Thurs night I think it was. I had to do the same - reset password. I couln't get in through message links or anywhere. I thought I'd upset someone (again!)
Cheers, Nigel

its started to log me out periodically now too where as I used to have it open all the time without having to log back in.

Yes, the auto logo out is fine and just for security.
But not being able to logo back in without resetting password is a pain!

Hi,
I've been having loads of trouble. I've already posted about the 'view posts since last visit' button, mine's not working at all now and I couldn't log out the other night.
I've PM'd Ozzy and matrixx, guess they must be busy or at the pub
Hope it's fixed soon.
Jayne :D

I don't know if it's related, but I am prompted to create a new dialup connection whenever I try to do anything on the site today, even though I use DSL. I simply cancel the message, and everything is hunky-dory until the next such message appears.

Hi Folks,
It was an update being done on the forum to the latest patch release, so should all be sorted now.
Jayne says the View Recent Posts isn't working still so will get that looked into.

Excellent news of fixing my button :D
It's still not working today, it take ages to go through all the threads without it :D Plus all the yellow flags go too, so you don't know which you've read.

Jayne it sounds like a cookies thing to me.
i.e. maybe somewhere on your internet browser you have a setting that blocks cookies (snippets of information)

Now you tell me. I thought these were the problem, so I have zaped them with my stinger  i'll go and see if I can un-zap?
Thanks Rob

I have put the cookies back and it still doesn't work, I have them unblocked. I have done nothing different than normal with my computer, but the button stopped working about a week ago, no explination :D I'm baffled!

Ok I'm getting this too in Firefox on my laptop at home but fine in the office, but it works fine on my laptop when using Internet Explorer...most confused. Not convinced is a UKBF problem, more likely Norton or similar on my laptop and likewise probably on your pc too.

Was working fine up until about a week and a half since. Not done anything different to normal? I'm stumped! Not got a cookie on anywhere, even altered the AOL setting to allow UKBF always? I don't use a laptop, so it's not that. Computers are strange little creatures

Im using Firefox on here and other than once the other day its worked fine for me. Jayne as a suggestion try using a different browser just to see if that works, you should hopefully have internet explorer on your comp somewhere. I have terrible problems when people with AOL try and use my VBulletin forum as there is something in a lot of the forums now that AOL just doesnt like!

Thanks Toni, i'll give it a go...there seems a lot AOL doesn't like at the moment, getting really sick of it. I blame all those new ads the have on the home pannel. It was fine until AOL put all them on. What gets me is, AOL have all this anti spam, anti pop up etc and they are the worse for doing it. Think I may swap when my contract runs out.
Thanks

Have you checked if changing the skin option (in the UKBF user profile) helps?

Thanks

So it's not my computer, it's rubbish AOL :D

Sorry guys, login problems to this forum still ongoing for some of your since we patched to the latest phpBB. Not sure why, but some can get past it by using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, and vice-versa.
Norton Internet Security has also been known to block, so set www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk as a trusted website to by-pass cookie blocking, etc. All set this in your web browser security settings under Privacy.
Sorry no firm answers yet, but I'll reply here when I believe it to be fixed (and I'm having the same problems myself from my home laptop but no problems at the office pc)... odd!
