Pop in to Maplin and get a mic mixer.

You can get Y splitters, I got one from Bruce millers for about £1.50 but a dedicated electronics place like Maplin, RS or CPC would do them cheaper.

I use mine for plugging speakers and headphones into my sound card but it would work equaly well for a mic.

The one I have is 3.5mm (M) Jack to 2x 3.5mm Jack (F). If your mic uses the larger jack type (6.35mm I think) you will need an adapter to shrink it down.

Sorry, but you can't use a cable splitter cable to connect two mics together, it won't work well as you will halve the impedance of the microphone input on the PC and probably overload the input causing distortion.

As already suggested you should get a separate microphone mixer, which will allow you to adjust the level of each microphone separately or a straight forward microphone combiner that just combines the two microphone signals together and then gives you one output. You then feed the output of this to the PC. However, you should make sure everything is matched, most mixers will have a microphone level input, but a line level output which is much stronger and you can't connect to a microphone input on the PC, it has to go to a line level input.

So, you either need to get a microphone combiner/mixer with a microphone level output or one with a line level output and make sure your PC has a line level input.

Hope this helps.
