My advertising/marketing campaign will begin on Monday 14th Nov, with the full website launch.

I brief sample of our initial planned promotional / marketing ideas are:

>> Press releases

>> Pay per click advertising

>> Affilaite program

>> Approching unique gifts and corporate gift sites with our product

If other people have some ideas on other ways to advertise/market our site and products they are very welcome.

Also one of our biggest ideas that could be successful is the 'Press Release' Idea.

I have written out several press releases on different themes and already had some interest from various media.

The fact our product / concept is new and unique makes it s news worthy or feature worthy article.

Now I need media contacts for national and local magazines, newspapers, TV and radio.

If anyone has any close contacts would you be so kind to maybe pass on our press release / personal introduction.

OR

Post below or email/PM me the contacts of your local or national media (even if it means looking in your local paper or magazine thats sitting in your mag rack.

All help is very much appreciated.

Try www.mediauk.com - there's a directory search in the top right of the screen.

Also visit news sites like Google News and www.newsnow.co.uk and search for articles about competing businesses. Journalists names are often included before or after the article.

Failing that spend £1000 a year on a PR database like some of us have to!

Mark try here.

http://www.newspapersoc.org.uk

They will sell you a list for £150 or at least that’s what the price was when I enquired last year however you can sift through their database manually if you want.

Hi,

Ask at the library if they have a copy of the Writers and Artists yearbook. This contains, contact names, addresses etc of all TV, Radio, mags etc or you can buy a copy, you can order it from WHSmiths for £12.99.

Also recommend Media UK if you don't want to have to pay for the information. Failing that, your local library may have a copy of BRAD or Hollis Media directory.

I would think carefully before spending a lot of time getting contact details and sending your press release out to local papers, though. Local papers tend only to print stories which have direct relevance to their particular area, so no matter how interesting your story is, unless it has a strong local angle, you could spend a lot of time distributing it to them, for not very much return.

You can also post your releases on:

www.prweb.com
www.pressbox.co.uk

and also, if you're going to the library, they may have one of the press guides - ask for 'Brad' or 'Willings' (the media yellow pages).

If you need a hand with future press releases get in touch.
