The type of management structure you elect to use in a business is issue "Z". Sure I could spend half an hour typing the difference between various management structures, but the fact that this is your biggest concern at the outset would cause me to question your business accumen.

I understand your question fully, but do you? As it happens i have just finished my assignment on this. Hierarchical structures just consist of more managerial departments. The structure of a hierarchical business is very big like the image below. And a matrix is just the opposite of hierarchical. But with a twist, a lot of information flowing to different places.
And also if you are starting up a company, why would you even be considering this at this stage, this should all map itself out as your company gets bigger. :)

thanks for that! that does help however the reason why i need to suggest which type of structure i want to use ibefore hand is because i am filling out a business plan and it requires me to clearly specify which type of structure the organisation consist of - weird i know!!!
ok,
so hierarchical consists of more stages i.e. more departments? e.g. car manufacturers? and i take it the benefit of this is you have more divisied workforce meaning evenly distributed pressure amongst workers? are decisions made more quicker or slower compared to matrix ( i read this in a book)
what would your overall opinion be as to which one is more efficient out of the two org structures, try and back up your reccommendations so i can get a clear view where u guys are coming from.
i would prefer if u could get bacck to me once again and please feel free to add me on messenger if u prefer on bee_a_g@hotmail.com as this is the more quicker method of communication for me.
Thanks again!

To be completley honest with you, if you are going a business plan i wouldnt run away with yourself too much. All the bank manager wants to see if that you have an understanding of what exactly you are doing and how it is going to work. If you need astructure on it then i would use a Flatter structure.
