Good morning.
Just been made redundant so have reverted back to private practice as a consultant. I'm a chartered H&S practitioner with a myriad of other services that I can offer. I specialise in H&S law so should anyone have difficulties with the HSE/LA/general liabilities, don't hesitate to ask for advice.
I have been over on the 'dark-side' for many years and for the first time some 5 years ago allowed myself to become an employee with a 'growing commercial property company. I looked after H&S, Environmental, Sustainability, Procurement, Facilities, some HR, Asset management, and general property management including when required project management. Aside from looking after the Directors who when all was said and done were extremely wet behind the ears, I pretty much did everything else. Sadly through greed of far too higher salaries for the 'ivory-tower' and a general lack of business skills, the organisation was on a downward spiral and from 5 directors and 21 staff, it is now 5 directors and 3 staff (upside down pyramid and all that).
I was lucky to get out when I did for I don't hold out much hope for them getting past 2009. All of course avoidable, had they have allowed those that know how to turn a company round-to do their job and get rid of the top end dead-weight. (Ah well, jobs for the boys and all that).
So my second week in private practice this time round and I'd forgotten just how much there is to do from the Revenue & Customs to setting up T's & C's to all the other business templates. A website is next and I shall either DIY it or take the plunge with a web design service. Now all I need is some clients again:eek:
Oh well, in for a pound.
