Hi there,
Just thought I'd say a quick hello. I've recently completed Cemap and am looking to enter the Mortgage industry as a self employed trainee. I live in North Wales and would be most interested to hear from anyone who may be able to offer such an oppertunity. Many thanks! :)

HeDelta31,
Why don't you give us a bit more information about your career history and why you are looking to move into the mortgage industry so we can help where necessary. There are multiple mortgage brokers who are members here.
I have an interest in a mortgage brokerage with whole of market exposure and can certainly answer many of your questions regarding you launching a career in this sector.
All the best.
Adam

Hi,
Many thanks for your replies.
Basically, I have always had a keen interest in anything financial eg helping family and freinds find the best deals in whatever financial product they may have been looking for at that time etc.
I come from a Retail Management backround, but currently work in the Shipping industry and now that I have completed Cemap, I would like to start getting some experience as a trainee Mortgage advisor, preferably working around my current employment from home (if possible) and eventually doing it full-time.

Welcome to the site, and wishing you luck with your new career direction. Working full time and then starting your career change part-time is a prudent way of getting things started..

Agree with comments above about a prudent way to enter the industry.
I also concur with your first post about doing it self employed and therefore minimising the financial risk of a brokerage taking you on and incurring cost.
We are based in Essex unfortuantely and what I believe your next steps should be are to google local, smaller brokers in your area who may be willing to hear you out.
Ultimately as you have the official qualification, but little of the experience you really need a lot of time spent with an experienced broker who can support you through your journey.
I certainly believe with a good local network supporting you it can make a rewarding part time career, progressing into a full time vocation.
If you need any specific questions answered feel free to mail me directly.
