Need help with Jshop again!.....

I need to know two things:

1. When customers order, do they automatically subscribe to our newsletter in Jshop?

2. When creating a newsletter I need to add images, although they aren't on my website - how can I do this ?:|

newsletter should be optional on anything, make it prominent though so they can see the option, probably better on thankyou page imo as they've then passed all the barriers and it's not yet another daunting task for them to complete.

Upload the images to your server (in a respective newsletter image folder) and link to them with the img src with full path so they show up.
