it probably depends on what your server/hosting can handle.
Have a look at the MySQL website and see if theirs a limit on that, that will tell you as its stored as a database.

I was going to say that but thought it was taken as read, I see the new MySql5 claims a billion transactions a day, now that would be a busy shop!

Of course it all depends on the server your on, but i reckon you'd be ok up to a hundred million products.
Of course theres also another hundred million factors which can change this equation, but the point is basically to say, you'll not exceed it.

The oscommerce has a very large community and their support are as well good, you should post your querry over their, I think you'll get suitable guideline.

I understand oscommerce is virtually unlimited.
How many products do you have?
Like the others say - check with the forums on oscommerce.

We use OsCommerce.
It works fine with our catalogue of 9500+ office products and machines.
The only related restriction is our database / web hosting service which is slowing it down.
We will move to a new host soon.
