I have found some excellent advice on software but nothing that seems to apply to my situation. Hopefully someone can help?
I manage a number of residences (private houses) via a private company. Income comes from one private source only (+occasional refunds, etc), payroll is calculated externally but I actually pay the employees and HMRC and it is not VAT registered.
What I do have is bills (some invoiced, plenty in cash) and expenses (invariably mine for all the cash payments but also housekeepers). Apart from the statutory stuff, I need to be able to show what is being spent on what, with whom and for what reason, what debtors are at any given time, to forecast coming cash requirements and to reconcile bank statements. We have 2 bank accounts; one with two cheque books and Debit cards, the other with debit card only.
I can manage straightforward Excel but creating complex accounting formulae and pivot tables has me beaten. I just need a simple programme that will do the record keeping and analysis without multiple inputs from me. Please, please can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi,

I'd recommend looking at accountingweb . co . uk and post this in the Any Answers section. There are about 38,000 accountants on there, with great advice.

Cheers

There are many software products that you can use.

I would suggest having a look at e.g. Kashflow - 60 day trial with allow you to assess if it suits your needs.

If you use an accountant I would suggest that you agree the system with them as this can have a positive impact on fees.

Good luck

Many thanks for the suggestions. Have already started to try Kashflow and registered with AccountingWEB (only problem is can't work out how to start a thread!!). With a new year starting I need to get things organised very soon.

KashFlow should do all of what you need based on the above. We have many customers in similar situations
