Yes, I know you all probably hate me for saying this so early. Can you believe someone who lives near me put up decorations on Monday night?!
Anyway, the purpose of this post is to see if any of the Essex/London/both members would be interested in a bit of a Christmas get together. The purpose of this (other than getting into the festive spirit in every sense) would be so we can put names to faces, do a little networking, and just get to know each other in the flesh so to speak.
Obviously it'd be open to everyone, but just thought seeing as I live 'daan saaf' we could get a little bit of an Essex do going on. Though no dancing round the handbags, I promise!
Maybe if everyone brought a non ukbf business associate too it'd be double the networking opportunities. Although i guess the main point is to have an opportunity to let our hair down for a bit.
If this is a crap idea just tell me, you all usually do!! (joke)
Anyway, what do people think?
'Tis the season to be jolly!

I'm always willing to network but we'd need to get at least 4 or 5 along.
If a northern meet was on the cards, I'd be prepared to travel to Scotch Corner, Lancaster or similar. We are pretty extreme north where we are, so Essex is beyond the realms really.

I love Cumbria, Our car broke down when we was lost once and we ended up in Barrow in furness, it was on a Sunday and we didn't have breakdown cover. We called in a pub to ask for a phone to get help, we didn't need it. Within an hour, the landlord had phoned the man at the local garage, he opened up and fixed our car, there and then.
Lovely people there, one of the nicest things we have ever had done for us :D And i'll never forget it.
Sorry a bit off subject, just wanted to share one of my nice moments :D

I'm up for it. Wouldn't want to get involved with the organising though!
I did one last year for trustNetworkers.com and ended up a few hundred quid out of pocket.

Do you paint? Your www link is not working properly so I couldn't view your site.
As far as I know I am the only artist here, we have a couple of photographers who print on canvas, but I've found my niche in UKBF!! LOL
I might bring some paintings, but I like a few Bacardi and COkes and I couldn't guarentee their safety!! or mine come to that! LOL

Claire...
sorry, there is no website as yet!!!!I have registered the domain name, and it ususually bring you into the British Jewellers Association Website...I've just being in contact with...Robert from Easy, and may well go there in the new year....
I have dipped into your website,it's great,no doubt you are happy with it!!!!!
Are you a modern jewellery girl?or an old fashioned jewellery girl?,or both?
How long does an average painting take you to do?
Do you ever just look at a canvas, with a blank mind and create from nothing,or is there always some image in your mind?
I sometimes do that with my jewellery!!!!
all the best Adrian. :D

I am a silver freak, although I am quite into beady stuff at the moment.
All my paintings start with a blank canvas, I usually squirt a few colours onto the pallette and take it from there.
Paintings range from 2-3 hours to weeks, it depends how elaborate they are and what medium I'm using. For instance silver leaf cant go on a painting until it's completly dry and texture paint takes an age to dry, but if I'm just doing a plain acrylic one I have to work quickly as it dries really fast.

Have you thought of a location yet??? :?
Or a particular pub/club/resturant???
Will we all need to be carrying a copy of that day's Financial Times,to recognize each other!!!! 8)
Or if we each had a rose from `roses by design`,you know ,held high in the air waving it at everyone who came through the door...
We could all just turn up as nuns and vicars...then again we do want to enjoy ourselves!!!!!!
We could all meet up under that clock at Liverpool St.,like in BRIEF ENCOUNTER,that's not a million miles away from the wilds of Essex!!!!!
Adrian....I'll dress as a vicar,but,not a nun!!!!! :P

Yeah, we could meet at liverpool street. Either at Hamilton Hall (the pub at the top) or at Light Bar which is a short walk from Liverpool Street and quite nice.
Any other suggestions greatly received!
