Hi all

I am thinking of retailing Beauty products within my wifes hairdressers shop by the Beauty Therapy side of the business. We have never been involved with retailing before - my profession being in Electronics - is this worth doing or is it better to expand our range of services offered by the Beauty Therapist to increase revenue.
Many thanks for your help!

Dave

Why don't you ask your customers what they want? After all, they're the ones who are going to be buying it.

Thanks for that Gary.
I will have to put some thought into some form of questionare.

I wouldn't bother about a questionaire - hairdressing and beauty are social environments, so just get the staff to ask while they're doing the treatments. Things like what else you would like to see here, any particular services or products, for example beauty products.

Do some legwork.

Have a look at other competitors offerings. If they are offering products then it is more than likely to be worth doing.

Most hairdressers and beauty salons that I know off offer products for sale, often the products that they use in the salon eg Tigi at hairdressers.

Obviously you do not want to sell products that will detract from your value added services but mainly complementary products.
