View Full Version : Converting Quark Files from MAC to PC?

A client of ours uses MAC, we use PC.
We both have Quark and (Hopefully) I can learn enough about it to muddle through some simple text inserts for a translation project.
Anyway, how do we convert the exported .xtg files between PC and MAC so that we can collaborate?

I would check with Quark but most new versions should be interchangeable between PC and mac.
If you are going from MAC to PC just add file extension
Hopefuly it should just work but if not id check with Quark.

Thanks Chris,
One local typesetter was saying that it is impossible, but I guess he wants me to give him the job rather than us handle it in-house.

To be honest if he is telling you that then he may be right.
I am not speaking from Quark experience just general mac to pc file transfers. I noticed since OSX came out there seem to be a lot more files compatable with PC and mac. For example all MS office files are interchangeable as are PDF's and a lot more files too.
Its worth a try though, are you using OSX or are you on OS9?
