How much could you pay?

The details:

For a fixed monthly fee with no hidden extras, we will do everything on the technical side;

# Advise and support you technically
# Design your web store with accessibility, ease of use and speed in mind
# Build the necessary features and functions for your web store at no extra cost.
# Create search engine optimised/friendly pages
# Host your web store on a secure dedicated server
# Provide you with detailed visitor's statistics and reports
# Maintain (including back-ups) and monitor your web store
# Upgrade your web store at no extra cost when required
# Provide your shoppers live technical support

All you have to do is focus on marketing, customer service, fulfilment, and making money. It like having your very own dedicated web development and e-commerce consulting team but without the costly overheads


My question to you is this: How much could you pay for a FULL service online store?

From for the 1000 so people we have contacted so far, prices range from £500 - £2500 / month.

Of course we wouldn't because we'd do it ourselves, but I would consider @ £1,500 mark to be a steal, especially if you could link up with a fulfillment house to take over that side of the business (obviously costing extra).

£1500 a month!

At £30/hr that's 50 man hours work a month you are paying for, every month!

I don't think this a viable option in my line of work.

William, I don't think you're quite in the market that Michael was looking at though.

£1,500 a month is as a salary £18,000 a year (real costs of someone on £18,000 a year are more likely to be £21K ). For that from the sounds of it you are getting access to...

1 or 2 designers worth £22K p.a.
1 or 2 programmers worth £28K p.a.
Data Entry
Dedicated hosting (your own maintained box - which is normally @ £250 - £500 a month anyway)
Hardware technicians
and if there is the fullfillment angle postage and packing resources.

Thank you for clearing that up - couldn't have put it better myself.

We would love to add the fulfillment part but at present we don't have the capacity or knowledge to do this - so its out for now.

We are very good at business, e-commerce and everything technical - the right skills and experience required to successfully support our clients.

Our target market are companies that are serious about e-commerce - serious about taking full advantage of what the Internet has to offer.

From experience - any online webstore focus their energy too much on technology and not enough on marketing, sales and customer service - we want to change that and we have the platform to do it and make it work for our clients.

I would say it's worth looking in this direction. You then allow your client to get on with what they are good at which is their product, with no need to worry about e-commerce and/or distribution.
