We are using Actinic v9 to build our website at Amadeal Ltd. (www.amadeal.co.uk (http://www.amadeal.co.uk)) but having a bit of trouble getting the 'add to cart' button to work. Is there anyone out there who has experience of this software who might be able to help?
We're getting an error message when the 'add to cart' button is pressed, and can't work out a fix!
At the same time we'd be pleased to hear any constructive criticism of the site so far as the designer, although very computer literate, has no website design experience - and as boss of the outfit I'm delighted with the progress so far.
tia for any input,
Hugh

Your missing some code.
Where you declare the POST method for the 'Shopping Cart Sript URL' (usually in the main product layout) there should be this code under the input tags
<Actinic:SECTION BLOB='<Actinic:Variable Name="SectionCatFile"/>'/>
Also there's a couple of points you need to address:
Check the site in different browsers. I know there was a few pages that were different (like this one - http://amadeal.co.uk/acatalog/Mini_Lathe_-_Brand_New_7x12_Machine_with_DRO.html)
Where you use single add to cart, you are not displaying the qty box. (http://amadeal.co.uk/acatalog/Pre-Owned.html)

Hey it's good to see some fellow Actinicists on this forum, I thought we were thin on the ground here.
For good general help and support try our friends over at
http://community.actinic.com/
A very friendly and helpful bunch (just like here!)

thank sir.chunk for your reply above - I'll get my colleague working on it this morning.
Having seen Actinic get occasional mentions on this forum I guessed that sooner or later some kind soul would come up with an answer.
Can I ask what you all are using for design software? Actininc's own design wizard? Dreamweaver? anything else?

Can't really go wrong with the Adobe Suite (if you can afford it, and find the time to learn to use it) - Fireworks, Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.
Never used the Actinic Dreamweaver plugin tho, so can't really comment on it (should do really). U will find me being hardcore and using Notepad++ :p

We're looking for some help developing some new sites, we've got several good domains with the intention of opening stores that have never go off the ground due to time / resources / tech knowledge / lazyness (no not lazyness).
We have version 9 eh..the one with unlimited stores can't remember the name - developer maybe?
Maybe you could pm us with an idea of your charges etc?
