Hi All.

My firend has made me a director of his new ltd company, and he is going to setup a bank account for the company and he has said he needs some id from me, namely something with my address on.
Im 17 and i dont have a driving license, or an existing bank account. all ive got is a passport which as far as i know doesnt have your address in it.

Im not sure what i can use or how i can obtain such identification, i dont get any utility bills or anything.

If anyone knows how I can prove I am Me id be grateful.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
You must have some sort of invoice/bill with your name on it even your parents bills would be good enough to prove where you live.

Im pretty sure all they need is a passport and household invoice/bill.

Hope this helps.

Callum

I thought you had to be 18 to be a company director?

Ask one of your parents to go with you with their ID, I think they can be your guarantor!

Hi,
You should have your own NHS card, haven't you?

They should accept your passport and a letter sent to you at your home address, plus your NHS card.
Do you have a student card? Basically take everything you have, or if in doubt phone the bank and ask.

Amazingly, there is currently no age restriction on being a company director! A 12 year old can be a company director in England (Scotland has a 16 year old restriction), but English law is set to change to be inline with Scotland.
