View Full Version : Would consumers buy from a .eu website? Would you?

For an internationally operating small e-commerce company, it's tempting to set-up a .eu European domain instead of buying a domain name for each individual country. I just wonder if that would affect the business.

What's your guess or personal attitude? If 100% of people would order a simple home product from a .co.uk site, how many would still order the same product at the same price from a .eu site?

90%? 70%? 50%

I would, but you may need to make it clear that you deliver to the UK (or whatever countries you're selling to). And I mean really obvious as you only have a few seconds to get someone's attention before they leave your site! Put a picture of a UK flag with "UK delivery" next to it (or something like that). That's what I would do anyway.

Hope this helps,

James.
