Hi all
I have to for once disagree with gordon ramsey, after seeing hi in the F word.
Please tell me it is crap that more men cook than woman. In fact more woman do not know how to cook than men, so gordon claims
I know the man is an accomplished male shauvenist, but surely there can be no foundation to this
Your views please

Hi,
Cannot really answer this one on a personal note, as both me and my husband can both cook and bake (but that's our biz :D )
Having many staff over the years, I have found that most younger ones cannot cook (male or female). I once had to show a 19 yr old how to fry an egg and another one how to make stew. I blame the microwave and busy life styles, parents are not at home as much to teach their kids how to cook.
I do think Mr Ramsey is a rude man and oftern talks out of his bum  Delia Smith could wipe the floor with him :D

How do you fry an egg? Could you also show me how to make toast without it emerging black from the toaster?

You can all laugh people, though i am not so bad now but i needed once to call me dear mum for advise on scrambling an egg. :-(
you are right janye about gordon ramsay. As i say my cooking hero if i have one is Jamie Oliver. His recipes make no bloody sense to me, but i like his style. :-)
I will never forget Gordon Ramsey tricking that Veggie into eating meat in Devils kitchen.

Fry an egg....stick in frying pan with some oil, flick fat over with a flat flicky implement, until your egg is cooked (Don't forget to light the Gas ring)...make sure all the snotty bits have gone
See none techy answer!
And toast, turn your toaster down

I'm a reasonable cook but my husband taught me how to do a fantastic roast chicken.
My son, who isn't three until February, does some form of cooking nearly every week at pre-school. The kids love mixing things but they also learn about measuring and maths.

I have to say that im Male and can cook, but i used to be a chef :P
Gordon Ramsey is COMPLETELY correct in his statement that most of the people in commercial kitchens are male. I reckon about 90% of chefs are male, and ive found that most women under about 30 just cant cook.
So yeah, i agree 100% with Gordon Ramsey, oh and as for Delia, ive never seen a bigger space cadet in my life.
