Email Tracking software

Is there any software that someone could reccomend which does the following.

i.e If i put a LINK in my email to a prospect when they click it , its stores in a database saying info@thatdomain.co.uk viewed the site @ 13:12 and i can access the logs thereafter

sure there is something out there

I am just looking for a simple quick solution.

Any ideas

oh and shows the ip address of the individual , so , basically - they click mylink in the email that records there email from xyz ip address, and i can see when they accesed my site through the link. do i make sence.

Active Campaign will do this for email campaigns, but not as a desktop plugin.

I'm not certain if they provide the full functionality that you are looking at, but the following are great email list management tools and worth looking at;

aweber.com

mailchimp.com - you can get Google Analytics, link tracking, open reports etc.

Best thing about it, it's free - sort of! Dependent on size of your list, you get free tokens when you join, which get used up per mail, so it's a good PAYG service.

It sounds rather like you're using your email application to do email marketing, or some very basic bit of kit that has no ability to track anything sent.

Literally any ESP you could care to name offers tracking to some level, and it is a for better way to undertake email marketing than trying to do it on the cheap internally. The costs - which are low - are easily overtaken by the convenience and ease of use.

Mailing Manager or Dot Mailer will do this using their program. You can track click throughs, opens and unsubscribes and manage your email database.
