Hello,
I dont know if its just me, but finding suppliers in the uk is very hard. I have found one... decent supplier in the UK for motorcycle parts and accessoiries.
All the other companies I have spoke to, dont want to know a lot of the time because it s a new business. One company was not prepared to supply me because I am based at home.
Does anyone have any advice on where I can find some suppliers to increase my product list.
Thank you
Jayne

Hi,
Tell them your bike outlet in built on land you own, you use your home address, as your house in on the same land...say you have customers waiting for parts.
White lies sometimes get you a bit more help and once you are bringing them business in, they will not mind where you biz is.

but would that sort of defeat the object of trying to create an honest business?
Also the main problem is finding the wholesalers, distributers etc.

Are you asking them for a credit account?
If you are paying cash up front I cant see them being bothered where you live.

I have a credit account with one supplier after being on trial for a while.
But the others I am looking for either, credit or upfront.

Why would it be lying...you biz is on your land, I never said how big the land was. You must have potential customers waiting for parts? And your house is on the same land as your business.
How many people talk about companies and big business and run a one man band from home. It's just sales talk. It's not telling a lie really. It's just getting the first foot in the door. They'll know you are a honest person, when you pay your bills on time and customers tell others about you.
If you don't want to do that, how about your bank manager writing a letter for you, to tell them they think you are honest etc..We did that when we started out and got our suppliers sorted.
Good luck :D

Why tell them you work from home, I don't and even if they find out it is so common today I don't find it bothers anyone.
