Hello, I'm tearing my hair out here. I'm just trying to add a layer on top of an image in dreamweaver. For some reason when I preview the file in explorer and drag the window to resize it, the image moves with the window but the layer stays where it is. Any ideas how I can overcome this problem? Any help would be gratefully appreciated before I throw my laptop through the window. :(

Do you have an option not to use layers. Sounds like bad news to me PDA's, text readers etc.
BTW I dont think you need to be using layers. What are you trying to achieve?

I do have the option not to use layers, and in fairness it would be easier to just use tables, but I find them quite lmiting and have to produce everything using slices and photoshop and saw layers as a way around this

Don't use tables unless you data you're presenting is tabular, i.e only use tables if it would have a table in a paper based medium.
Use CSS for the layout and the latest version of Dreamweaver has very very good support for it.

I would say thee easiest way if you have it is to create what you want in Photoshop first.
you can manipulate laters there to your hearts content.
As for using dreamweaver to do it, i have never played with that utility therefore could not comment :-)
