Hi Guys
Looking for abit of advice and help. I want to have a section on my website where clients login with their unique password and they can see files, word and excel sheets calendars etc.
Ive looked at basecamp and activecollab ( which Im thinking of going with) but i was wondering what do other people use.
thanks in advance

I have been experimenting with Pier Project for a client - maybe over kill, but its the best collaboration software I have seen.
Is it just to browse files or do you want to work with them online as well?
Maybe setting up a shared Google Docs account might be the best route.

Hi Ya
Thanks for that, it looks similar to active collab.
I want my clients to be able to log in and have access to their folders and be able to work on the files in their folders.
I'll have a look at the PP and see if it will serve my needs.
Thanks again

Hi,
Which technology does your website use ? PHP ? Dot Net ?
If it's a Dot Net site, then it would be fairly straightforward to use Role Based Forms Authentication which is already built into the Dot Net Framework.

i've been scouting around quite heavily for some kind of integrated CRM / project management / collaboration system.
I always believe in using open source software first and then modifying it to suit. Totally bespoke applications are the last resort but for me I am finding the CRM side of things is often the one that ends up being bespoke because each business model is slightly different and has different requirements.
Compared to ecommerce for example where most peoples requirements are really quite similar.
I will definitely take a look at Project Pier. I have also been playing with Vtiger. Any thoughts on that?
I may well end up doing some kind of mash up of the two or something, really not decided yet.
